RECURDYN is an engineering software technology used to analyze the dynamic behavior of systems that contain both rigid and elastic components. It combines rigid body motion analyses (Multibody Dynamics) with elastic body motions, stresses, and deformations analyses (Finite Element Method). The RECURDYN solver combines these two components in a single solver. This gives RECURDYN a much faster and much more powerful solver than can be obtained with coupled simulation. RECURDYN software is used in a variety of industries, including automotive, defense, aerospace, space, and shipbuilding.

RECURDYN Analysis Capabilities:

  • Rigid and Elastic Multibody Dynamics Analyses
  • Kinematic Analyses
  • Static Analyses
  • Design Studies and Design of Experiments
  • Sensitivity Analyses
  • Vibration (Linear) Analyses

Tire & Suspension

RECURDYN/Tire&Suspension is used to analyze the vibration characteristics of the tire and suspension of a vehicle during its operation on various terrain.

Gear

RECURDYN/Gear provides easy modeling and analysis of complex gear train systems.

RECURDYN/Gear is used to analyze Dynamic Transmission Errors (DTE) caused by the actual contact characteristics between gear teeth, considering user-defined backlash and tolerance. It also provides post-processing function to examine contact normal force and friction force information at each time step at contact points.

Engine

RECURDYN/Engine module provides significantly simplified modeling and analysis for valves, pistons, and crankshafts, which are the main components of internal combustion engine systems. This enables the rapid and easy creation and analysis of highly realistic engine models.

Valve

RECURDYN/Valve module has the ability to design and analyze a valve train system. It automates the creation of a valve train assembly. This module supports a variety of valve types and camshafts.

Piston

RECURDYN/Piston module automates the engine piston system.

This module is designed for piston and cylinder contact analysis. It can perform a bearing analysis that models the lubrication properties of elasto-hydrodynamic bearings between the piston pin and connecting rod or between the piston pin and piston. This module also requires the RECURDYN//EHD module.

Crank

RECURDYN/Crank module automates the creation of driveline components such as crankshafts, balance shafts, and flywheels.

Belt

RECURDYN/Belt module makes it easy to model and simulate three-dimensional belt drive systems, from simple to complex.

Chain

RECURDYN/Chain module automates the process of defining a chain system and supports standard chain entities such as sprockets, rollers (idlers), guide rails and lateral guards. Roller chains and silent chains can be modeled and analyzed in this module.

HM Track

RECURDYN Track HM module enables the modeling of tracked vehicles, such as tanks, personnel carriers used in military vehicles, or recreational vehicles such as snowmobiles. The main elements of tracked vehicles are provided within the module, and the user can perform a fast analysis with the optimized solver.

LM Track

RECURDYN Track LM (Track Low Mobility) module is used for modeling and simulation of construction machines and heavy industrial machines. The main elements of the vehicles are provided within the module, and the user can perform a fast analysis with the optimized solver.
