It is a general purpose finite element program that can simulate complex real world problems. Ls-Dyna, an Implicit and Explicit Finite Element Method software, is one of the most advanced simulation tools for nonlinear structural analysis. It is used by the automobile, aerospace, military, manufacturing and bioengineering industries.
The software can handle simulations involving material damage, and you can see how damage propagates through a part or system. Models with large amounts of parts or surfaces interacting with each other are also easily processed, and the load transfer between interactions and complex behaviors is accurately modeled. Using computers with a higher number of CPU cores can significantly reduce solution times.
LS-DYNA elements, contact formulations, material models and other controls can be used to analyze complex models with control over all details of the problem.

Supporting Tools
One of the most common applications of LS-DYNA is sheet metal forming. LS-DYNA is used to determine whether a sheet metal part will fail. To do this, it accurately predicts the stresses and strains that the metal experiences. Additionally, LS-DYNA is used to improve accuracy and save time.
